There was a fire in 1992 when much of our history was destroyed. The fire was (sadly) deliberately lit by some young offenders who were chased from the building by a well meaning passerby but were not caught. The club was rebuilt (100% funded by the Club) and reopened on 17 April 1993.

From Peter Haysman:

It was a very sad time when, in 92 our clubhouse was burnt down by vandals.
Photos 45 show the door frames and window frames being inspected by the then President who had tp make out he knew what he was doing.
Photo 99 is a good one, showing the result of how all the honour boards were rebuilt and painted by a mate of mine after many hours of researching the names, dates etc of club members.
Did forget to say that in 92 Kerry and I started up some junior tennis coaching on Sunday mornings. Started off with about 6 kids and at end of season finished with about 35. Many had been coached at school etc. but had never played an actual game, which they really enjoyed. After about 4 yrs of getting to the coaching with a significant hangover, we passed the baton, but unfortunately it died after a further couple of years.A few years later the club got a professional coach and the junior program thrived.
